There were a few raves in early 90s in Russia. But they were mainly techno-trance oriented. UK hardcore wasn't much spread in Russian clubs in 90s, it was mainly played on private parties. Today the situation is hardly better so SirZ is right.

DJ Foo From my point of view it goes like this.
Mainly Russian scene is occupied by pop and rock performers and as for electronic music the vast majority of clubs promotes dance mainstream, rnb, disco and synthpop.
Of course we have here underground parties as well, but very few of them are held in oldskool style. Mostly these are vanguard rock and hip-hop parties where artists can play live. The examples of how oldskool parties are held in Russia you can find also in the forum (here, here, here, and most recently here).

Главным образом российская сцена занята поп и рок исполнителями, и что касается электронной музыки огромное большинство клубов продвигает танцевальный мейнстрим, r'n'b, диско и синтипоп.
Конечно у нас есть здесь и андерграундные вечеринки, но очень немногие из них удерживаются в стиле oldskool.
